DV-Systems, Charlotte, NC based manufacturer of profile finishing
machinery, presented its new CCS combination roll-coat and vacuum
finishing system at the recent Surfaces show in Las Vegas.
The versatile CCS Roll-Coat & Vacuum Combination can help
shops grow their business without vast floor extensions. With
a size of 12x5 feet, the CCS combines all flooring finishing
processes and more within a small foot print. “The beauty
of the CCS is that it gives customers the flexibility they need
in today’s market,” says Vittorio Belluz, VP of
DV-Systems. “They can use it to finish both flooring and
mouldings and as they grow, the CCS can become part of a bigger
line.”

Equipped with optional sanding brushes or belt sanders, the
CCS first prepares substrates for coating. After applying base
coats with the 8 or 12” wide roll-coater, a very simple
change-over process activates the vacuum coater to seal selected
or all sides of the substrate with top coating. The vacuum coater
also has the capability to finish mouldings and trims. Following
the coating process, parts pass through a UV curing tunnel where
ultra violet lamps irradiate the part. Adjustable intensity
provides for partial (gel cure) or perfect through cure.
100% coating transfer and optimal space utilization make the
CCS highly efficient. Furthermore, the CCS only needs three
runs to achieve a finish equivalent to seven layers of hand
finishing. When equipped with DV-Systems’ environmentally
friendly cool UV-X curing technology, the CSS’s annual
energy consumption is reduced by up to 42,900kWh – enough
to power more than 3.5 single family homes for a year. The cool
curing temperature also allows the curing of resin-bleed prone
and oily woods.
